Everything in life is it a bit easier when you have a great team in your corner!
When you are starting, it can be hard to make connections with other bloggers. I mean who has the time to meet new people when you are already trying to balance your blog content, Pinterest group boards, Instagram loops, Facebook liking and trying to have a life still! It is with this in mind that the 30 Day Team Engagement Challenge was born.
Why is Engagement Important?
Engagement is essential across all of your channels. We often get caught up trying to grow our traffic or followers and lose sight of the fact that engagement is where we should be focusing. Here are some of the reasons engagement is so crucial across your blog and social media accounts:
- Shows people that your followers are real
- Enables creates user-generated content
- Starts conversations. (How much better is it to speaking to actual people instead of feeling like you are posting content into oblivion).
- Builds trust with your readers
If that wasn’t enough, Google likes it! If you are getting comments on your website, your website is going to come across as much more active to your visitor and help with SEO results at the same time.
Why is it so hard!
Unless you are blogging full-time, it can be hard to make time for engagement activities. I write and post my content after my kids have gone to sleep. This schedule can make for some late nights, and when I finally hit “post”, all I want to do is crawl into my bed. I do not want to be searching out like-minded mums to help me grow my Instagram account at midnight.
There are many platform-specific ways to grow your following (Tailwind Tribes, Looping on Instagram), but it can be time-consuming to try to master engagement across multiple platforms. Also, it can be hard to find tribes and loops with people that actually engage or share your content. Also, it can be hard to make any genuine connections when you are being lumped in 100s of other people.
